Exciting news from the Music Department 🎤🎷🎶🎻
Congratulations to Julianne Handzus (grade 12), who was accepted into the All-State Jazz Choir, and Rowan Mendel (grade 12), who was accepted into the All-State Orchestra! Being selected for an All-State ensemble is a tremendous honor, showcasing their talent and dedication as some of the best in New Jersey.
Both Julianne and Rowan performed at two concerts : first in Atlantic City and again at the prestigious NJ Performing Arts Center in Newark. Under the guidance of world-renowned conductors, they represented Sparta with pride and excellence.
Our very own music teacher, Mr. Lopez, had the privilege of serving as the All-State Jazz Band Co-Manager and Jazz Procedures Chairperson for these events. He was extremely honored to support such a talented group of students. A huge shout out to the rest of the music department as well -- Mrs. Laura Lopez (choir/orchestra), and Mrs. Aimee Nishimura (orchestra), and Dr. Deborah Gianuzzi (band/choir). We are incredibly fortunate to have them all at Sparta High School.
