What qualifies a student for a 504?

Any student that is diagnosed with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities.

The law defines major life activities to include “functions such as caring for one's self, performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning, and working. This list is not exhaustive.”
