Our Mission

  • The Sparta Board of Education appreciates the value of a quality education. It is our mission to create a safe and healthy learning environment that will provide opportunity for every child to achieve the NJ Core Content Curriculum Standards, at all grade levels, to be prepared for further education or workplace and develop into trustworthy, respectful, responsible, fair and caring citizens.

    The Core Values of Sparta Township Public Schools Are:

    • Cultivating an educational environment that fosters the social/emotional well-being of all students, enabling every child to feel supported and valued;
    • Fostering an appreciation for learning beyond schooling;
    • Building confident, conscientious, independent thinkers;
    • Exposing and engaging students to multiple communication mediums for a variety of purposes;
    • Encouraging digital citizenship;
    • Teaching students how to think, not what to think;
    • Challenging students to broaden their global perspectives;
    • Developing the skill and stressing the value of active listening;
    • Cultivating a sense of personal identity, responsibility, and accountability;
    • Promoting shared civic responsibility;
    • Preparing students for careers not yet conceived.
