    Mr. Ciaburri

    The 2022-2023 school year will be Mr. Ciaburri’s fourth year at Sparta Middle School and second year as Principal. Prior to this, Mr. Ciaburri was the Assistant Principal for Sparta Middle School and Helen Morgan School.  Before becoming an Assistant Principal, Mr. Ciaburri worked as a Phys. Ed. Teacher in Jefferson, NJ and Kinnelon, NJ before accepting teaching and coaching positions at Sparta High School.  Mr. Ciaburri earned his Bachelor’s Degree from William Paterson University and his Master’s Degree from Kean University.  When not in the school, you will find Mr. Ciaburri relaxing at the beach with his wife and three children, or on the sports field coaching his children in one of many sports they are currently involved in.  Mr. Ciaburri loves the New York Yankees, the Dallas Cowboys, and Oreo Peanut Butter ice cream from Alpine Creamery!  If given the opportunity, Mr. Ciaburri would love to play a round of golf at Augusta National.

    Dr. Davis

    The 2022-2023 school year will be  Dr. Davis’ seventeenth year at Sparta Middle School, and his twenty second year in education. Prior to working in Sparta, he was an English teacher in Mahwah, NJ and before that he worked in Paterson at Eastside High School, also teaching English. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Montclair State University and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from William Paterson University and this year Dr. Davis earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Outside of school he enjoys coaching baseball, reading, playing guitar and spending time with his family. As a Sparta resident, he is committed to making sure Sparta continues to be the best place there is to live and raise a family. 

     

    Mrs. Shefferman

    The 2022-2023 school year will be Mrs. Shefferman’s 27th year in education and her 15th year working in Sparta schools. It will also mark her second year working as an assistant principal. Throughout her career, Mrs. Shefferman taught special education students in both pull-out and push-in settings, as well as gifted and talented students in both settings. As a general education teacher, she taught middle school language arts, instructional intervention for language arts and math, and 8th grade computer science. Mrs. Shefferman earned her bachelor’s degree from La Salle University and her master’s degree from Seton Hall. Outside of school, you can find Mrs. Shefferman with her husband and two daughters, usually doing something softball related or musical. Mrs. Shefferman loves to play guitar, sing, swim in the ocean, work on her novel, and ski. She is also a big time Yankees fan. Mrs. Shefferman is grateful to be in an administrative position at Sparta Middle School and she looks forward to working with staff, families and students on making the upcoming school year a great success.
