Mr. Ronnie Spring
Mr. Spring was appointed Principal at Sparta High School in July. Prior to becoming a Spartan in 2019, Mr. Spring worked at South Plainfield High School for eight years, where he served as Assistant Principal for four years and High School Principal for four years. Mr. Spring received his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University, a Juris Doctorate from Rutgers School of Law and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University. Mr. Spring practiced law for approximately 8 years prior to beginning his career in education at East Orange Campus High School as a Social Studies and Law Teacher. Mr. Spring enjoys reading, going to the movies, hiking, and following his favorite sports teams. Most of all, Mr. Spring enjoys spending time with his wife, Bonnie, his three children, Mason, Sara, and Ellie, and two rescue dogs, Mamas and Ice.
Mrs. Jamie Barker
Mrs. Barker was appointed Vice Principal of Sparta High School in July 2019. Prior to becoming SHS Vice Principal, Mrs. Barker served as Supervisor of Humanities in the Butler school district after teaching English at SHS for 12 years. She also served as Varsity Girls Soccer coach, assistant track coach, and literary magazine advisor throughout her tenure as a SHS teacher. Mrs. Barker holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education as well as a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership. As a Spartan alumni, Mrs. Barker is honored to serve her hometown, students, and colleagues in new capacities.Mr. Lauricella
Mr. Lauricella was appointed as Assistant Principal of Sparta High School in December. Prior to becoming Assistant Principal, he served as the K-12 Supervisor of Social Studies, World Languages, and ESL in the district for two years. Prior to arriving in 2016, Mr. Lauricella taught history at Passaic High School and social studies at Benjamin Franklin Middle School in Ridgewood. In addition, Mr. Lauricella works as an Education Specialist for Eduscape Learning where he trains teachers in various digital platforms and instructional methods/strategies. Mr. Lauricella received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History Education from Montclair State University, a Master of Science degree in Educational Technology from Ramapo College of New Jersey, and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Ramapo College of New Jersey. Mr. Lauricella is currently a doctoral student through Rowan University. Mr. Lauricella is excited to be working more directly with students in the Assistant Principal’s role and is intent on collaborating with all of the stakeholders of the Sparta learning community to make Sparta High School one of the best high schools in the nation.
