Supervisor of World Languages and ESL
Mr. Lauricella serves the Sparta Township Public Schools as the K-12 Supervisor of Social Studies, World Languages, and English as a Second Language. Prior to arriving in 2016, Mr. Lauricella taught history at Passaic High School and social studies at Benjamin Franklin Middle School in Ridgewood. In addition, Mr. Lauricella works as an Education Specialist for Eduscape Learning where he trains teachers in various digital platforms and instructional methods/strategies. Mr. Lauricella received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History Education from Montclair State University, a Master of Science degree in Educational Technology from Ramapo College of New Jersey, and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Ramapo College of New Jersey. Mr. Lauricella is currently a doctoral student through Rowan University. Mr. Lauricella is a believer in a student centered approach to social studies built upon teaching students critical thinking and real world problem solving skills supported with literacy infused throughout the social studies curriculum. Mr. Lauricella is a believer of proficiency driven courses in the world language classroom supported with research based best practices in order to better measure student progress on the path to proficiency and better serve the students of the Sparta learning community. Mr. Lauricella enjoys collaborating with all of the stakeholders of the Sparta learning community from district/building administration to teachers to parents to students to community members.
