Overview

  • The Guidance Department is a comprehensive and innovative center which provides students in with academic, personal, social, career and further education counseling. The department consists of a Director of Guidance, school counselors and clerical staff. All members of the department are skilled practitioners in the delivery of guidance services and are dedicated to helping students reach their greatest potential within an optimum learning environment.

Director of Guidance

  • Mrs. Dalton joined the Sparta Township School District in 2004 as a guidance counselor after spending the first years of her career as a teacher, in various grades from kindergarten to third grade to high school.  In 2010, she became the Student Assistance Coordinator working with students in a variety of areas including interventions and bullying.  Beginning in 2015, Mrs. Dalton became the Director of Guidance of Sparta High School.  She possesses a B.A. in Child Development from Thomas Edison University, a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Fairleigh-Dickinson University and an Master of Science in Educational Leadership from the Concordia University.  Mrs. Dalton also has an outside counseling practice and is an adjunct teacher at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
