  • Welcome to Alpine Elementary School
    We are an elementary school in Sparta, NJ for children in PreK, Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2.

    Mr. Miller

    The 2023-2024 school year will be Mr. Miller's eleventh year at Alpine Elementary School and his seventeenth year in the Sparta school district.    He was the Assistant Principal at Sparta Middle School for six years.  This will also be his twenty-seventh year in education.  Previously to working in Sparta, he was a Vice Principal at Cedar Grove High School in Cedar Grove, NJ, and a 5th-grade teacher at Woodmont Elementary School in Montville, NJ.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Baldwin-Wallace College, a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a Master's degree in Educational Administration from Montclair State University.  

    Mrs. Madsen

    Mrs. Madsen has just completed her 1st year as Assistant Principal at AES. She spent 8 years as the district Math Supervisor. During this time, she had the opportunity to work both inside and outside the classroom, developing programs and professional opportunities for colleagues. These experiences include, but are not limited to, being involved in numerous state-level programs, developing various curricula plans, and leading workshops for other teachers. She is committed to being involved in all facets of curriculum development, daily building operations, the culture and climate of the building, and student success. This is her 17th year in education. Prior to Sparta, she was a middle school math teacher for Mount Arlington Public Schools. She has earned her Bachelor's degree at Kutztown University and her Master's degree in Educational Leadership at Ramapo College. She is excited to be at Alpine and is looking forward to working with all stakeholders on our continued success.
