News and Announcements

  • Information from STPS Forums on Race, Racism, and Inequality: On Thursday, June 4, 2020, Sparta Township Public Schools conducted virtual parent forums for each school in the district to provide guidance on how to talk to children about Race, Racism and Inequality. These forums shared resources, provided recommendations, and created a platform to engage as a school community in discussing these important topics. The forums were moderated by our district specialists, Dr. Saskia Brown, Mr. Scott Kercher and Dr. Jane Esposito.

If you were unable to attend these virtual forums, please use these links to share in the experience and access the resources.

ORANGE OUT FOR FRIDAY'S GAME!! Dear Sparta High School Community, In times of tragedy, it is so important that the community rallies together to start to heal. Dover High School sophomore, Steven Gomez-Restrepo, passed away on 9/21, a week after he was hit by a car on Route 46 in Rockaway following a football game at Morris Knolls High School. According to his family, Steven was a dreamer with a vision! "El le gustaba conocer, visitar, visionar." He enjoyed learning, visiting and envisioning. Words cannot express the sorrow of this horrible and untimely loss. In an effort to show community and support, Sparta High School will “Orange Out”. Orange ribbons can be purchased for $1 (MRC & School Store) and SHS Athletics will be selling a Student pre-sale package for the 10/4 football game- an orange T-shirt and a ticket to the game for $5. (Cafeteria at lunch- 10/3/19 & 10/4/19) All proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated to Steven Gomez-Restrepo’s family. Thank you! Sparta High School is #DOVERSTRONG
