Students are identified to receive supplemental math/language arts through the New Jersey ASK 4, given in the spring of their fourth grade year. Their score also determines the number of days per week they will receive services. This state assessment identifies the areas of strengths and weaknesses of each individual student. Their supplemental program is then developed according to those skills identified as below average.
During instruction students are assigned to small groups of 3-4, usually with other students from their homeroom. We use all manipulatives to achieve their goal of understanding the concepts in Math.
