Sparta is a unique and special place.  We have students who are eager to learn, teachers who are excited to teach, and administrators who are ready to lead.  That being said, the question that must be asked is, “Where is the Sparta School District going from this point forward?”  For many years Sparta has enjoyed the reputation of being one of the finer school districts in the state of New Jersey.  To be so highly regarded the Sparta Schools must continue to:

  • Recruit and retain highly qualified staff.
  • Upgrade the facilities.
  • Be accountable for high quality instructional delivery and student assessment results.

As the Superintendent of Schools I want to continue to foster the excellent school/community relationships that currently exist and that are the foundation of any quality school district.  I also am determined to improve the programs and facilities that do not meet the criteria of highly regarded school districts.  The mission of the Sparta School District is to create a safe and healthy learning environment that will nurture, motivate and enable our youth to develop into mindful, responsible, contributing participants in their education, their community, and the diverse society in which we live.

To achieve this mission we must continue to extend our program offerings and upgrade our facilities to meet the needs and expectations of the students whom we have pledged to serve.  I believe that we have a community of committed residents who will work hard to find a way to build a new high school and to expand the number of elementary classrooms so that our students can have the scope of programs of studies and the modern facilities that they absolutely deserve.

I will use my energies and expertise along with the skills of our outstanding staff to continually upgrade and improve our educational programs.  I will also pledge to work toward the approval of a referendum for a new high school that is desperately needed in Sparta, a town with a rich and proud history.  However, I need the help of the Sparta citizens to reach our goal of being an outstanding school district.  We need your continued high level of involvement in our schools, and we need your financial support to be able to build a new school.  Together we will make Sparta Schools outstanding in every way.
