The new Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts will be implemented coming this fall.  The new standards emphasize nonfiction reading and writing.  The summer language arts was designed to reflect the new standards.

The 2012 Summer Language Arts for students entering:

Grade 1

Grades 2 and 3

Grade 4 and 5:  Articles - Why do bees hang around flowers?  Can bees make food?  Why are honeybees called worker bees?

Grades 6, 7. and 8:  Article - Can a swimsuit make you swim faster?

Grades 9 - 12 English
