All applicants must be interviewed by an Administrator and upon the recommendation from the Administrator and the completion of all the required paperwork, including fingerprinting, all substitutes must then be approved by the Board of Education. If you do not hold New Jersey Certification,you must apply for a County Substitute Certificate which requires a minimum of 60 College credits. Fees for becoming an approved substitute include $80 for fingerprinting and $125 for a County Substitute Certificate. This process takes about 4 to 6 weeks. You will be notified when you have received Board of Education approval and will then be included in Sparta’s Substitute List.
